Google offers some what of a free online diagnostic that can warn you of sites that hosts bad content such as malware/trojans/virus

To use this service install the url link http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site= with thedomain  of interest appended

e.g

http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=socpuppet.blogspot.com


Google maintains relevent information, pertaining to the site  & if any thing negative was found.
