TIP: How to gain a shell in IOS-XR

Within IOS-XR, you now have the means for gain a unix shell if your authorized.


method #1  execute the command  "run"  from the cmd line

e.g

method #2 access the router from a Aux port

e.g

Once you have a shell you can now edit files local, and manage file with common unix commands

e.g

tar
cpio
vim
gzip
mkdir
mount
umount
perl
tclsh
etc.......

Here in this example, I've un-mounted a usb-device, that was connect to the RSP-linecard
